10 Jan Amherst Partners Advises on Sale of Tweddle Group
Amherst Partners, LLC (“Amherst”) is pleased to announce the sale of Tweddle Group (“Tweddle” or “the Company”) to CJK Group. Amherst acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Tweddle in connection with the transaction.
About Tweddle Group
Founded in the 1954 and based in Clinton Township, MI, Tweddle Group is a leading provider of products and services used to gather, organize, and deliver information that is critical to support those who build, maintain, and operate automobiles and other machinery and equipment. Widely recognized for its market leadership in supplying owner’s manuals and other “glove box” materials, Tweddle has over six decades of experience converting dense technical and engineering data supplied by its automotive OEM customers into clear, concise, and actionable information delivered across multiple modalities. This foundation of industry knowledge and experience has led to the evolution of disruptive digital and SaaS solutions designed to address both the manufacturing and service needs of increasingly complex vehicles and equipment.
About the Transaction
As Tweddle’s exclusive financial advisor, Amherst’s efforts were focused on identifying and engaging well-positioned buyers capable of supporting further expansion of the business, both through the growth of the Company’s traditional owner and service information products, and through new market opportunities arising from its proprietary SaaS/digital solutions platform. Amherst prepared comprehensive marketing materials articulating the Company’s unique attributes and growth potential, and successfully marketed Tweddle to a targeted universe of prospective buyers.
Amherst managed a comprehensive and competitive sale process that resulted in substantial interest from multiple buyers, both strategic and private equity. Ultimately, the Company elected to pursue a transaction with CJK Group, a privately-held portfolio of international print, publishing service, and technology/information solutions companies that support the book, magazine, catalog, journal, and commercial publishing industries.
Thompson Hine LLP served as legal counsel to Tweddle.
