TVS Logistics (the “Company”) is an approximately $2.0 billion revenue company based in Chennai, India.
The Company was looking to expand it’s presence in the U.S. market beyond a number of existing joint ventures with a major U.S. based trucking company.
Amherst Partners was engaged to advise the Company on a number of strategic financial decisions involving potential investment opportunities and the deployment of Company capital.
Amherst Partners identified a number of critical financial and operational issues in a potential acquisition opportunity including the potential acquirer’s financial projections, valuation, operational deficiencies, and the general economic climate preceding the last economic recession.
Additionally, Amherst Partners analyzed financial information and reviewed the operations of TVS’ existing joint ventures.
TVS Logistics, based on the advice of Amherst Partners, decided to forego the acquisition opportunity, avoiding the acquisition of an overvalued Company immediately prior to an economic recession.
Amherst provided strategic advice as it relates to two other JV’s and positioned TVS for success going forward.
