Ontario Systems, based in Muncie, Indiana, is a leading provider of proprietary software solutions and related communications products to the receivables management and debt collection markets.
The Company provides its receivables management solutions directly to many of the largest and most prestigious customers in a variety of diverse industries, including third-party collections (i.e., debt collection agencies), healthcare and financial services, among others.
Amherst professionals were engaged on two occasions to assist Ontario. Initially, we were engaged by the buyer to serve as the financial advisor in its evaluation and eventual acquisition of this Company. Several years later, we were engaged as the investment banker to lead a process aimed at the value-maximizing sale of the Company.
On both occasions, Amherst professionals were successful in meeting the objectives of our client. The sale process for Ontario featured a broad marketing of the business involving the identification and contact of multiple prospective buyers, both strategic and financial. Ultimately, an industry-focused private equity group emerged as the most attractive buyer.
