Acute Care Pharmaceuticals (“Acute Care” or the “Company”) is a market leading supplier of branded USP 797 and USP 800 compliant disposable medical products used in hospital pharmacy compounding cleanrooms.

Products include Dry Wipers, Pre-Saturated Wipers, Alcohol & Disinfectants, Tacky Mats & Refills, Testing Kits, IV Seals, Apparel, Gloves and Glove Liners, Chemo Mats, and Chemo Neutralizers.

Acute Care’s Pharma brand is well-recognized among end-use customers 500 + acute care hospitals, major pharmaceutical wholesalers, Group Purchasing Organizations (“GPO”) and Independent Networks (“IDN”).

Acute Cares shareholders, who founded Acute Care in 1997 in San Diego, CA, were seeking liquidity for their ownership interests in the Company.

Solution

The shareholders engaged Amherst Partners (“Amherst”) to lead a sale that would secure a buyer who understood and highly valued their branded products, access to the acute care hospitals, and want to leverage their industry contracts/relationships with key the GPOs and wholesalers.

Results

Amherst approached a select group of strategic and financial investors and received multiple indications of interest at competitive valuations.

The shareholders ultimately selected PNC Riverarch, who had a key strategic investment in Tranzonic.

Tranzonic, Cleveland, OH, is a leading supplier of consumable cleaning, safety, and hygiene products to commercial and industrial end-markets; product sets include protective gloves, industrial wiping products, feminine hygiene, and safety products.

PNC Riverarch and Tranzonic aggressively pursued the Company for its complimentary products and access to the healthcare market.
