Broaching Machine Specialties Inc. (“BMS” or the “Company”) is a Novi, Michigan based manufacturer and repairer of broaching machines for end users.

When the Company encountered significant financial difficulties, Amherst Partners was brought in by the Company’s bank to assist with the Company’s operational turnaround.

Solution

Amherst Partners performed a detailed analysis of the Company’s operations and identified a number of issues surrounding the Company’s internal financial controls and general operational deficiencies.

Subsequently, Amherst Partners implemented a turnaround plan which involved addressing the Company’s internal control issues.

The Company’s operational deficiencies were addressed by reconfiguring the shop floor to increase throughput and productivity.

Results

The increased throughput and productivity led to a successful turnaround.
