Situation

Founded in 1998, Coated Steel Corporation (“CSC”) was a value-added steel service distribution center that specialized in the distribution, processing and testing of pre-painted, galvanized and galvalume steel in coil, slit coil and cut-to-length form.

Prior to the transaction, CSC had facilities in Illinois, Alabama and Louisiana and employed more than 50 employees.

CSC primarily supplied the construction industry with materials for building panels and roofs.

Solution

Engaged as exclusive financial advisor, Amherst Partners led the sale of the Company.

Results

After Amherst Partners approached multiple strategic and financial buyer prospects, the Company was eventually sold to Mill Steel, one of North America’s leading suppliers of flat-rolled and pre-painted steel.

Amherst Partners conducted a highly focused sale process to identify a well-capitalized investor capable of pursuing identified growth opportunities for CSC.
