Job Description

As an experienced Investment Banking Analyst or Associate, you will play a key role in executing merger and acquisition (M&A) and capital raise transactions for our middle market clients. You will be responsible for performing financial analysis, conducting due diligence, preparing marketing materials, and supporting the deal execution process. You will work closely with the team to contribute to financial models, presentations, and other deliverables that help clients achieve their strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior investment bankers in executing M&A transactions, including financial analysis, due diligence, and transaction documentation
  • Conduct industry research to support the evaluation of potential targets and/or acquirers
  • Prepare financial models, including discounted cash flow (DCF) and leveraged buyout analysis (LBO)
  • Create marketing materials, such as pitch decks, confidential information presentations (CIP), and management presentations
  • Assist in managing due diligence processes, including coordinating with clients, legal counsel, and other parties to gather and analyze relevant information
  • Support deal documentation and execution
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of transactions and deliver exceptional service to clients

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field is preferred
  • Personal ties to Detroit/Michigan are preferred
  • Previous investment banking or transaction advisory services experience is a plus
  • Strong accounting and financial analysis skills, including proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and financial statement analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling presentations and effectively communicate complex concepts
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and collaborative mindset
